So Many Decisions, So Little Time?

The best, and perhaps most recent ‘real world’ example I have to describe a situation where I used specific criteria to make a decision occurred last Thursday. I had to decide whether to watch the last five minutes of Grey’s Anatomy ‘or’ the first few minutes of ER. So what did I do?

Are you serious?  We’re talking ER here folks, by now you should know where my devotion lies.  My ER obsession is well documented and perhaps will one day be the subject of someone’s doctoral thesis.  But alas, something tells me that our professor is expecting another type of answer from me. I believe she is seeking something with more gusto, more chutzpah, and more pizzazz.

So here’s my backup answer – I made the decision to apply to Bowling Green State using a certain set of criteria. I wanted to attend a university that had an excellent distance learning program, a strong academic reputation, and one that was affordable. BGSU met each of those three criteria. BGSU’s distance learning program offers very diverse degrees, including mine (Liberal Studies).  Academically BGSU was highly recommended by a former co-worker of mine, who is a proud graduate. And finally, after evaluating the cost of obtaining my degree, I realized that BGSU is very affordable.

How’s that for a happy ending, and not a bad decision if I do say so myself.

Who Are You Calling A Fan?

Fans can be fickle. In my flighty little world, ‘fan’ is like a four letter word (well, technically it’s a three letter word, but I think you understand where I am going with this).  Anyway, I may have hinted in one of my previous posts that I adore the TV series ER. For me, ER isn’t just some run of the mill TV show. It’s an integral part of my life. So as you might imagine, the though of a shortened season (due to the writers’ strike), does not sit well with me. What am I going to do on Thursday nights at 10 once the season is over? Oh yeah, study of course.
