The Write Stuff?
Okay, try this one on for size. What do you get when you pair a devoted reader of total fluff with a course that tackles serious writing techniques? You get one nervous student (ahem, that would be me).
Yes I enjoy reading, but definitely not the task of writing. After all isn’t that what writers are for? They do all the dirty work and we (the readers) sit back and enjoy the fruits of their labor. Preferably on a chilly winter’s night while curled up on a nice comfy sofa. Ahh! What bliss.
But of course this blog entry isn’t about my perfect little vision of how the world should work. It’s about ENG 112 and my expectations for this class. First of all I hope that by the end of this course I can form a sentence that is so brilliant it will be worthy of a Pulitzer Prize. Just kidding Professor Rzicznek. Trust me, I am not asking you to be a miracle worker. Besides, turning me into a prize-winning writer is something even Houdini couldn’t have pulled off.
If I learn how to write with more ease and confidence, this class will certainly live up to my expectations. I am looking forward to the Critique, simply because I have never done one, yet it sounds like an interesting challenge. Well, I guess that’s all I have to share right now.
In the meantime, I’ve got a ton of new blogs to read.
